KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) opened at 1903 E. Isaacs in July 1966. The 14 foot tall bucket which weighed over one ton was off loaded from a railroad flat car by Dwinell's Neon Sign truck, and given a police motorcycle escort to its 70 foot tall perch where it was hoisted by an O D Keen Construction Company crane.
